1:48 Trumpeter US Navy F9F-2 Panther Fighter

Kit consists of 124 parts on 4 sprues, and the completed kit measures 9 1/2" long with a wingspan of 9 1/2". Developed post-WWII, the Panther became a mainstay of US Navy and Marine forces in Korea. They were the first carrier jets to fly in combat, shooting down two YAK-9s on their first mission in July 1950. Later, in November, it became the first carrier jet to shoot down a Soviet MiG-15. The F9F-2 remained in service into the late 1950's when subsequent variants of the Panther were put into use.
