By exploiting the engine’s power combined with the solid structural reliability of the chassis and suspension, even over long distances, many units were built for the recovery of broken-down or accident-damaged heavy vehicles. The equipment consisted of a rear-mounted crane capable of lifting the vehicles to be recovered, as well as numerous additional compartments to store equipment and tools useful for repairs or towing operations.
