Boeing L-15 Scout (other designation: Boeing YL-15) was an American military reconnaissance and communication plane, which was flown in 1947, and during serial production no more than 15 machines of this type were created. The plane was 7.7 meters long with a wingspan of 12.19 meters. The drive was provided by a single Lycoming 0-290 engine with 125 HP. The top speed was 180 km / h. The plane did not have on-board weapons. Plane The L-15 Scout was designed by the Boeing aviation concern as a light communication machine with shortened take-off and landing (STOL) properties, initially intended for the civil market. The plane was characterized by a highly unusual structure of the fuselage, wings and rear tail. However, the Boeing L-15 Scout did not enter the civilian market in the end, and a small number of the machines produced were taken over by the US Air Force to later go to the US Fish and Wildlife Service in Alaska, where the properties of the Boeing L-15 Scout turned out to be very useful.
